From time to time Sarah's House has minor and semi-major repair needs, including: maintenance needs, grounds keeping, sorting donations, etc.
As a helping hand volunteer, your hard work goes towards ensuring our clients have a clean and safe shelter to live in.
We are always looking for volunteers to facilitate workshops that will put our clients on the right track towards independence.
A few examples of workshops include: resume building, counseling, family planning, mock interviews, etc.
Volunteer Advocate (VA)- A VA must have an interest in assisting women and children who are homeless. As a VA, you would be working closely with homeless women and their children, help to coordinate services, assist with daily residential activities, and assist with career searches, job skill assistance, and intake. Training is provided as needed. A VA must commit to at least 1 time a week for 3 months. This position is for females 18 and older only. Advocate Assistant (AA)- An AA must have an interest in assisting women and children who are homeless. As an AA, you will assist the Advocate or the VA with daily residential activities, answering phones, and phone intakes.
